Taylor & Joe: A Love Story Rooted in Banff

Every love story has a beginning, and ours started in the heart of Banff—where the mountains touch the sky, and the air carries a magic all its own.

Joe’s journey to Banff began in 2009 when he arrived to join the Banff Hockey Academy. Amidst the towering peaks and pristine snow, he spent his days perfecting his skills on the ice and falling in love with the tight-knit community that surrounded him. Hockey brought him to Banff, but the town’s charm and the adventures it offered stole his heart.

Meanwhile, Taylor was lucky enough to call Banff her home. Born and raised in this picturesque town, she grew up with a deep appreciation for the beauty and wonder of the Rockies. From childhood hikes to cozy evenings with family, Banff was her world—a place that felt like it belonged to her.

Fate Steps In

Our paths first crossed while Joe was playing hockey. It started with a connection that was as simple as it was powerful. On one unforgettable night, we both snuck out to spend time together. We stayed up talking and laughing until the early hours, discovering in those quiet moments a kindred spirit in each other.

From that night, our shared love for adventure and laughter grew into an incredible friendship. Banff became more than just a backdrop; it became the foundation of what we were building together.

Taking a Leap of Faith

In 2015, we took a chance on something bigger than friendship. Taylor left Banff for Edmonton—a move that was as spontaneous as it was meaningful. It was a leap of faith for love, and it changed everything.

Since then, we’ve been on an incredible journey together. From cheering each other on in our careers to exploring new places and growing alongside our amazing families, we’ve found strength in being a team.
